Rotary Encoders

A rotary encoder is a sensor that converts rotational displacement into electric signals to detect information such as position or speed. Normally used as a sensor for measuring rotation, this product is also used for applications such as positioning for IT equipment or the servo systems of robots. This product is broadly classified into 2 types according to the output signal type: an incremental type (incremental encoder) and an absolute type (absolute encoder). An incremental type detects information such as the amount of rotation from the detected signals, while the absolute type enables the output of absolute values for the rotational angle.
