There are various shapes depending on the application, such as those suitable for drilling holes in drill presses and those suitable for precision processing. Most vise bodies are made of cast iron or cast steel to withstand heavy duty work. Some jaws are anti-slip, and others are made of plastic to avoid damaging the workpiece.
