Usage Precautions
[Warning]
- This product is for industrial use. Do not use it for medical devices or circuits that are related to human life.
- The material of the plastic bowl is polycarbonate or nylon.
Do not use in environments or locations where synthetic oil, organic solvent, chemical agents, cutting oil, thread lock, leak detection liquid, hot water, etc. are present or may adhere.
For details on the chemical resistance of the plastic bowl, please refer to "Chemical Resistance of Plastic." - Piping load and torque
Make sure that no piping load or torque is applied to the body or piping section.
- To detect cracks, scratches, or other deterioration of the plastic bowl, please perform regular inspections at least once every six months.
If cracks, scratches, or other deterioration are found, they may cause breakage, so please replace the bowl with a new one or a metal bowl. - Regularly check the plastic bowl for dirt or contamination.
- If dirt is found or if the transparency has decreased, please replace it with a new bowl.
- When cleaning, use a diluted household neutral detergent, as improper cleaning may cause damage. Afterward, rinse off any dirt and detergent with clean water.
- Bowl Removal
When removing the bowl, be sure to stop the compressed air, completely release the pressure inside the bowl, and confirm that there is no residual pressure before proceeding. - Perform drainage to ensure that the condensate in the drain separator does not exceed the upper limit.
If condensate enters the outlet side, it may cause equipment malfunction.
· For resin bowls, do not allow the condensate to exceed the "Drain Upper Limit" or "MAX LEVEL" indicated on the bowl guard.
[Note]
■ When designing/selecting
- In the case of a compressor circuit with water lubrication
be careful to prevent chlorine-based substances and the like from mixing into the compressed air. - Use the auto condensate drain under the following usage conditions. It may cause malfunction.
NO type auto condensate drain (discharges when not pressurized): In the case of "F" - Please use a compressor with 0.75 kW {90 l/min [ANR]} or higher.
- Please use the operating pressure at 0.1 MPa or higher. (Air purge will be performed together with the initial condensate until the pressure rises to 0.1 MPa.)
For NC type auto condensate drain (no discharge when not pressurized): in the case of "F1" - Can be used with compressors of 0.75 kW or less.
- Please use the operating pressure at 0.15 MPa or higher.
- If a large amount of condensate flows in, the auto condensate drain may not operate properly.
If a large amount of condensate is generated, select bowl option "M" and perform regular condensate discharge from the drain pipe using a solenoid valve or similar device.
- Drain pipe
For plastic bowls, the drain pipe uses a barb nipple and can be attached directly. However, when inserting the tube, please make sure that the drain cock is closed before proceeding.
Avoid piping that applies a lateral load to the bowl.
Do not fix the tube connected to the condensate outlet in a way that applies a lateral load. If condensate is discharged while a lateral load is applied, external leakage may occur. - Tightening torque for the drain cock
The maximum tightening torque for the drain cock on a plastic bowl is 0.5 N⋅m. - Drain piping for metal bowls with auto condensate drain
When threading a fitting or similar component into the female thread of the condensate outlet, be sure to hold the hexagonal part of the cock while tightening.
Please note that for metal bowls with auto condensate drain, if you use a tightening joint for the drain piping, manual operation will no longer be possible.
- Do not use in locations where ultraviolet ray directly illuminate.
- Flush and clean the piping to be used.
If debris or contaminant remain inside the piping, it may cause a decrease in product performance. - Be careful not to allow contaminant to enter when threading piping or fitting.
When threading piping or fittings, be careful to prevent pipe thread shavings or seal from getting mixed in. If debris or contaminant remain inside the piping, it may cause a decrease in product performance. - To use the condensate separator correctly,
1. Check the arrow indicating the direction of airflow and make sure to install the piping so that the flow direction is correct. If the flow direction is not correct, condensate separation will not occur.
(Condensate will flow out to the outlet.)
2. Please mount the case vertically facing downward. This will result in improper condensate discharge.
3. Do not use the auto condensate drain in locations subject to vibration, as this may cause malfunction or failure. - Please perform the auto condensate drain piping according to the following conditions. This may cause malfunction.
For the condensate discharge piping, use a pipe with an inner diameter of at least ⌀5.7 mm and a length of no more than 5 m, and avoid any vertical piping.
Avoid piping that applies a lateral load to the bowl.
When threading fittings, etc. into the Rc1/4 female thread, hold the hexagonal part of the cock in place while threading. - Piping threaded torque
When piping, do not apply excessive torque to the body or piping section.
- Do not disassemble or modify the product.
- When using or performing maintenance, be sure to carefully read and understand the handling precautions included with the product before proceeding.
- Turning the cock toward the O side will discharge the condensate, and turning it toward the S direction will stop the discharge of condensate.
The tightening in the S direction should be at the level of manual tightening. - For models with an auto condensate drain, the condensate is automatically discharged when it accumulates, but manual discharge is also possible.
About chemical resistance of plastic
[Warning]
- The chemical resistance of plastic is shown in the table below.
- Please avoid using in environments where such chemicals are present in compressed air, in the atmosphere, or may adhere to surfaces.
- Continued use under these conditions may cause the bowl to break and result in an accident.
- Avoid using such chemicals or using them in environments where they are present.
- If you need to use them, a metal bowl is available, so please use it.
*In areas where the atmosphere contains any of the chemicals listed below, please use a metal bowl (metal type).
