Rotary damper (unidirectional) FRN-P2 series (FRN-P2-R501G2)

Rotary damper (unidirectional) FRN-P2 series FRN-P2-R501G2
  • Volume Discount

This damper is a unidirectional rotary damper with adjustable torque. Also, the gears attached to the damper are available in 2 types.

[Features]
· The torque of the rotary damper changes according to the rotation speed.
· Generally, the torque increases as the rotation speed increases, and decreases as the rotation speed decreases.
· Regarding the torque value of the catalog, 20rpm is the torque value at the time of rotation.
· In addition, the torque at startup is slightly different from the rated torque.
· The torque of the rotary damper varies according to the operating environment temperature.
· In general, the torque decreases as the temperature rises, and rises as the temperature decreases.
· This is because the viscosity of the oil inside the damper is affected by the temperature change, hence when the temperature returns to normal, the torque also returns to its original value

Product Specification

Rotary Damper (Unidirectional) FRN-P2 Series Product Specification
  • The rated torque value is measured at a rotating speed of 20 rpm and 23°C (knob position at MAX).
  • There are types of dampers in which torque is generated in both clockwise (R) and counterclockwise (L) directions when viewed from above the rotary shaft.

Torque adjustment methods

Turning the adjustment knob clockwise increases the damper torque, while turning it counterclockwise decreases the damper torque.

Cautions and Prohibitions

Using it above the maximum rotating speed

  • Using it above the maximum rotating speed may result in oil leakage, reduced durability, or rotary shaft damage.

Using it outside the operating temperature range

  • Using it outside the operating temperature range may result in oil leakage or torque malfunction.
★For the operating temperature range, please refer to each product specification.

Using it above the Maximum Operating Cycle

  • Using it above the Maximum Operating Cycle may result in torque reduction, oil leakage, etc.
★For the Maximum Operating Cycle, please refer to each product specification.

Prohibition of parallel use of adjustable rotary dampers

  • Please refrain from using adjustable rotary dampers in parallel.
For parallel use, please use the same series and same torque specifications.

Over-tightening of mounting screw

  • When installing the rotary damper, over-tightening the mounting screw may cause damage to the main unit.
★ Based on the type and thread size of the screw being used, tighten the screw with the appropriate tightening torque.

Do not operate if mounting strength is insufficient.

  • Operating in a state of insufficient mounting strength may damage the main unit and pose a risk of injury.
  • Ensure that the mounting section strength is equal to the load torque × safety factor.

Do not operate without an external stopper.

  • Please use within the operating angle range of the damper. Avoid using the damper itself as a stopper, such as making the rotary shaft's rotation limit position the stationary position of the rotating object. Using the damper itself as a stopper may cause damage to the damper, which could result in damage to the main unit and potential injury.
  • Set the external stopper to the desired operating angle before use.

Do not use beyond the maximum operating torque.

  • Using beyond the maximum operating torque may cause oil leakage, reduced durability, or shaft damage. Damper failure may also result in damage to the main equipment and potential injury. Use within the maximum operating torque.

Do not operate outside the operating temperature range.

  • Using it outside the operating temperature range may result in oil leakage or torque malfunction. Please use within the operating temperature range.

Pay attention to the operating environment.

  • Cannot be used in a vacuum or under high pressure. It may cause damage to the main unit.
  • Do not use under direct sunlight at the seaside, near mercury lamps, or near equipment that generates ozone. Deterioration of rubber parts due to ozone may cause a decline in performance or function, or may cause the product to stop functioning.
  • Avoid using in environments where dust, oil, water, etc., may adhere to the damper. Damage may cause oil leakage and malfunction.
  • Do not dispose of oil indiscriminately.
  • Indiscriminate disposal of oil sealed in dampers may cause environmental pollution.
  • Dispose of in accordance with the Directive regarding disposal and cleaning of waste materials.

Product modification prohibited

  • If any alteration (such as processing, painting, welding, hardening, etc.) is performed on the product, all warranties will be void.

Radial load on the shaft

  • Applying a radial load to the rotary shaft (gear) may result in oil leakage, torque malfunction, shaft damage (in the case of gear-equipped models, gear damage), or the gear coming off.

Thrust load on the shaft

  • Applying a load in the thrust direction to the rotary shaft (gear) may cause oil leakage, torque malfunction, damage to the main body (in the case of a gear, gear damage or gear disengagement), etc.
